Welcome to Cogsworth Motors

The future of ICE cars and a greener tomorrow.

Excuse our mess our staff are hard at work setting up our new website.

About Us

So what is it we do?
Cogsworth Motors is attempting to keep the ICE car alive for many years.
How are you doing this?
Cogsworth Motors is currently designing a hydrogen generator capable of creating the amount of Hydrogen a car needs to stay running and driving all in a small added on installation. When prototyping is completed we expect to be able to create both a cell that can be powered off the current provided by a car battery and a working injection system to run a full-sized car engine.
Why'd we move?
As much as everyone working at Cogsworth Motors loves New York pizza and bagles we intend to be moving on to vehicular testing in the next two years. New York unfortunately is very strict about their annual vehicle inspections and is extremely expensive for a startup like us to have a workshop. Another reason for a move to the south was to be closer to D.C. as once we finish a few prototypes we hope to obtain a patent for our designs and to lobby the US government to enable a tax credit for our conversion kits as we are trying to help combat global warming.
What "kits" are you talking about and can you install them yourself?
The main idea behind our eventual product is a retrofit kit for currently produced cars and for older models. What we plan on is a large amount of workshops scattered around the United States wherein after purchasing a conversion kit for your car we will ship the conversion to our nearest shop where you will drop your car off and have it converted to run off hydrogen created by water. We hope once we finish a workable prototype of our systems a full conversion at one of our shops will take at most 3 hours.
What did you say will I be filling my car with?
We plan to have all purchasers of Cogsworth kits able to fill up their car's ex-gas tank with water and a additive we will supply free for a year in order to create the hydrogen your car will run off of.
What is this additive and why do I need it?
To make things simple the additive is a proprietary mixture of salts, various minerals and an acidic compound. This is needed as an additive for the water to make the splitting of it easier as the combination of the aforementioned ingredients creates an easier solution for electricity to move through and split the water molecules. While it will not be strictly necessary for the kit to function without the additive the production of hydrogen will not be as efficient any you will get less range and even in the case of using extremely purified water it will take a long time to create enough hydrogen for the engine to start.
What type of water to use/ Where can I fill my car up?
We'd recommend so far to use hose water from an unfiltered source, however in the future, we plan to partner with gas stations to have a pre-mix that you can pump directly into your car without the need for an additive, however this will more than likely come with a slight markup as compared to filling up at home and will likely cost 40-50 cents a gallon.
Our Story
Cogsworth Motors was founded in the summer of 2022 on Long Island in the garage of a 15 year old High School graduate. While originally intending to be a summer project to keep busy while applying to jobs Cogsworth Motors soon spiraled into a full-scale career. While the founder of Cogsworth Motors has no official engineering experience outside of school they slowly began to develop the necessary skills required for machining while working in their garage. By early October 2022, Cogsworth Motors soon had completed its first prototype that was able to create hydrogen for sustained amounts of time.
